Zukkini (Oasis Ara Damansara)

A café on the ground floor of Oasis Ara Damansara, a cluster of shops and restaurants in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

The food here all goes well with a drink. The menu centres on Australian-style brunch with Japanese and Korean flavours worked in. It's known for dishes such as Japanese scrambled eggs with salmon, nasi kerabu, and a cold capellini finished with truffle and ponzu. There's also a corner where more than ten kinds of cakes and pastries are laid out every day.

It was opened in August 2023 by Jay Ong and his partners, and its name and concept were inspired by a café called Zucchini that used to be in Bali. The centre of the room has planted shrubs and trees, and with greenery climbing the walls, the space feels like a garden. The menu changes with the time of day, from morning brunch through to dinner.

A place I'd pick on a day I want to take it easy over a coffee or a tea.
