A sukiyaki and shabu-shabu restaurant on the 14th floor of Takashimaya Times Square, a short walk from the New South Exit of JR Shinjuku Station. When I went, a server cooked for us right to the end.

I think the main restaurant is better, but you can still thoroughly enjoy the meat here.

It began in 1895 as Imahan, a gyunabe (beef hotpot) restaurant in Honjo Azumabashi. It opened a branch in Ningyocho in 1952 and became independent under its current name in 1956. Their sukiyaki starts with just the meat, simmered in a special warishita sauce so that none of its flavour is lost.

An old-established sukiyaki restaurant that is easy to drop into on a day of shopping in Shinjuku.
